Affiche - L'art prend la clé des champs

An exposition in
three movements

Launched in the spring of 2009, the regional campaign "Croquez l'Outaouais!" (Outaouais, bite into it!) continues to promote the region's wide variety of agrifood products, the people who produce them and also, the locations where consumers can obtain these products.

One of the campaign's objectives is to not only establish ties between producers and consumers, but also to bring the city closer to its surrounding rural area. With this in mind, we have created this exposition, which helps to link the city with the country, city dwellers with agriculture and farmers with consumers.

The exposition draws on the artistic talents of the region, in order to generate different visions of the Outaouais region's agriculture and rural life. Through the eyes and interpretation of artists, we wish to raise the awareness of the region's population to the richness of the regional agricultural and its various productions, as well as to its history, its evolution and its future.

Our inspiration

The idea of L’Art prend la clé des champs (When art is let loose in the field) is based on a project that was born a few years ago in the Îles-de-la-Madeleine named Artisans à table. Although the project of L’Art prend la clé des champs managed along the way to find its own way and its own personality, we want to highlight the marvelous project which inspired us.

The idea of this project was launched by an artisan of the Îles-de-la-Madeleine, Patrick Leblond. The idea behind this project was to develop links between artisans and producers and food processors by creating new art and craft objects. The project was lead by the organization « Le bon goût frais des Îles» in collaboration with Arrimage Corporation culturelle and Tourisme Îles-de-la-Madeleine.
